Get to Know the Porsche 911 GT3 with Touring Package
The Porsche 911 has been the iconic car that all car enthusiasts know and love. Over the years Porsche has not disappointed the consumer base with the generation line up of the 911. Today, Porsche is introducing the all-new 2022 911 Porsche GT3 Touring package. As we all know the GT3 for the beast that it is, the Touring Package is no slouch, it will continue to sustain the same aggressiveness that the GT3 puts out. We all know that Porsche would never even think of skimping out on performance, as Porsche is well known for its luxurious and performance features, along with its racing heritage. However, don’t expect the large rear wing to be there on the Touring package, as that is one element that has been eliminated from the package.
At Porsche Cherry Hill, located near Philadelphia, we have done a complete and detailed review of the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 Touring. To find out more, just keep reading.
2022 Porsche 911 GT3 with Touring Package: Wingless?
The all-new GT3 Touring package will have lines of a standard 911, but with the performance of the GT3. This package will not cost you anything extra; however, the starting price for both comes with a price tag of $161,100. The decision will be a race car or daily driver, as this will not be a matter of performance as it will be mechanically unchanged from its winged big brother—aside from the deletion of the large rear wing. Porsche claims the elimination of the wing will not affect the chassis or powertrain. It will still have the beastie 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, which produces a 9,000-rpm redline and 502 hp and 346 lb-ft of torque. Not to be disappointed, for the manual lovers, the GT3 with Touring Package has a six-speed manual transmission. However, if you like to drive worry-free from shifting gears manually, don’t panic as the GT3 with Touring Package will have the PDK 7-speed dual-clutch transmission available as well.
Keep in mind when choosing the PDK 7-speed dual-clutch transmission that you are getting a near-flawless transmission, and precision shifts, which are accomplished within milliseconds, which is almost impossible when there is always room for human error when shifting manually. Additionally, the PDK can keep the motor revving between 5,500 — 8,500 rpm in every gear, which is where it is most responsive and powerful.
Even though the 2022 Porsche 911 GT3 with Touring Package has the large wing delete, it does have a retractable spoiler that will automatically show itself above 49 mph allowing for additional downforce. Porsche isn’t letting you drive off the lot in your brand new Touring without some additional downforce to keep that rear end planted when reaching those GT3 speeds.
2022 Porsche 911 GT3 with Touring Package: Flexible interior
Maybe something to help your decision when deciding to throw down on a new GT3 or GT3 with Touring Package is the interior option flexibility. The Touring offering more customization than the standard GT3 might sway your final decision. For instance, the Touring model offers over a dozen options for items like two-tone leather and fabric seat inserts. Something also to keep in mind when deciding between the two is that the bucket seats are available on both options if you are looking for a more racing feel inside, but a more traditional look outside.
